Unlock Multi-Touch Gestures in Xubuntu
I’ve grown accustomed to using multi-touch gestures to switch workspaces. I’ve prepared a step-by-step guide to enable gestures in Xubuntu.
Xubuntu is a Canonical Ltd.–recognized, community-maintained derivative of the Ubuntu operating system. The name Xubuntu is a portmanteau of Xfce and Ubuntu, as it uses the Xfce desktop environment, instead of Ubuntu’s customized GNOME desktop.

Xubuntu 21.10 “Impish Indri” was released on October 14, 2021. It features new and updated apps, the PipeWire sound system, and much more.
In September, Xubuntu’s development server was funded, our latest wallpaper was published, and several new packages were uploaded.
In August, Xubuntu made updates for the in-development 20.10 release and some bug fixes and application updates for the 20.04 LTS release.
Development has started on Xubuntu 21.10 “Impish Indri.” We’re currently soliciting team votes and community feedback for new packages.
April kept me busy with a new Ghost release, Xubuntu 21.04, and some elementary development. I’m feeling motivated and getting things done!
Xubuntu updates are follow the “stable release update” procedure, or SRU. The process can be intimidating for users and contributors alike.
Xubuntu 21.04 “Hirsute Hippo” is moving forward. It ships with Xfce 4.16, updated applications and libraries, and many other refinements.
